One star because the stone in my toaster didn't crack or anything like that and -0- stars are impossible . I knew there would be a slight odor that would dissipate after a few uses, so I heated it regularly for several months. I finally gave up as the chemical smell NEVER left the stone after many uses. It actually got worse and "hung" in the air until I opened the windows and turned the fans on full blast. If I could give zero stars I would because I had to throw it away. A total waste of money, time and effort to rid my oven of residual odors... it took a thorough cleaning and over 10 uses WITHOUT the stone to get itself out of my oven.
