Review on πŸ“Έ Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 manual focus lens by Katie Evans

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stunning portraits, great addition to the Sony A7

Not only does this device look fantastic, it pairs with the Sony A7 and makes the whole set shine when installed. I have used the Fotasy mount on the NEX ILCE and it works flawlessly with this and other Minolta Rokkor lenses. This lens is near perfect, especially for the price. The images are professional and razor sharp. Unlocks all FF Sensor features. His favorite application is indoor portraits. You can pause it forever to get the perfect shot every time, or open it fully and immerse yourself in a world of creamy art and central focus. From the outside this still makes amazing images, although you'll want to turn it down as f1.4 is a lot of light to contend with, or throw in a filter or two to clear the spectrum. This isn't a modern lens, but I never noticed HA (didn't expect 50mm) and only the slightest distortion at the edges, which can easily be corrected in Photoshop, and I still crop everything. However, it is not suitable for astrophotography, it needs a set of filters to avoid cat eyes everywhere. Night photography is insanely good in every other way, as you'd expect it can turn the night into bright daylight at 1/3 shutter speed. Contrast and sharpness are insane for the price, the manual nature of this lens means it's small and sturdy. like nails and easy to focus with a medium dive. An essential Sony A7 for the serious photographer. Everyone loves the results.
