She has worked in the textile industry all her life. Having worked in US bed sheet factories until they closed in 2007 due to cheaper imports, I am very familiar with the fabrics used in bed sheets. With that in mind, I was extremely happy to purchase this sheet set and discard the microfiber polyester sheets my wife bought for our king bed. I was looking forward to finally sleeping on a good set of high thread count cotton sheets. Received them tonight and tried them out on the bed before washing to make sure they fit our 19" mattress. They fit well together and allow plenty of room for shrinkage that may occur with washing. I washed them in cold water and dried them on low heat according to the care instructions. I took them off right after my cycle and took them to our bed. I was quite surprised to find that they had shrunk excessively. As I deal with cotton fabrics every day I was shocked to see the amount of shrinkage. The fabric has not been pre-shrunk to reduce shrinkage. They are basically useless as the waste is now only about 4 inches on each side. I am very disappointed in this $100 bedding set. Based on my results, I cannot recommend these plates. I think I'll keep looking for a good cotton sheet.
