It would be nice if GPSIT posted installation instructions on their website so you can see what you're getting into before you buy. If you want a simple trace with a few wires, that's great. Mine is connected to the under hood fuse box on the Nissan Frontier. It also gets good GPS and cellular signals under the hood. Installation information is rather sparse. You have four wires. Two for consistent performance. It was pretty easy to get. The third wire is for the ignition, which tells you when the car has started and/or is running. Getting it was easy. The fourth wire is the control wire, which allows you to turn off the car. It will be difficult. I didn't want to cut the wire or otherwise modify the car if this thing fails it won't start. Newer cars use smaller fuses than I'm used to, so some pre-installation was required. I had to get an automatic relay and socket to connect the fourth wire. An important note here is that the fourth wire provides ground, NOT 12V. One wire from the relay coil goes to this wire, the other coil wire goes to +12V. I bought a fuse box and connected a wire to the NC relay contact (usually closed) and the other end of the fuse box went to the fuel pump. The common contact of the relay goes to the ignition side of the circuit. This allows me to turn off the fuel pump and disable the truck.
