MOUNTING BRACKET NEEDS CHANGING

Sanus VMF518-B1 WALL MOUNTI bought the first one from Revain on 11/25/16 to install a Sony 49" XBR49X830C TV. Item was delivered quickly and in good condition. Instructions were clear enough, assembly and installation was no Problem Screws and gaskets attached the mounting brackets to the TV with ease. The wall bracket is finished in black enamel paint which makes it attractive. As expected, it is completely hidden behind the TV when viewed from the front. Due to the ease of installing this unit when I got a new 40 -" TV Samsung UN40KU6290F for the kitchen wall mount, although the price of the Sanus MVF518-B1 mount is expensive, I chose another, mainly due to the attractive, articulated design and easy installation of the first. Again, Revain supplied the device quickly and in brief, the bracket is not designed for this TV. The upper T part of the vertical mounting plate (on the back of the TV) extends approximately 2.5 cm above the top of the TV. The mounting screws that came with it were the right length. I called Sanus about the problem and used a hacksaw to trim off the excess on the vertical panel that was visible above the TV. The tint of black paint on the cut end made the crowbar almost new, although the cut end will never be visible unless carefully examined. Additional work added about five minutes to the overall installation. Returning one device and finding, ordering and shipping another would take additional days. Roll, pitch and yaw movements are easy and can be adjusted to increase/decrease rolling resistance. I attached the cable adapter box to the back of the TV with Velcro, and amazingly, the box receives input from the cable provider's remote, even though it's not visible. This means that I can return the remote control extension that I bought. When fully closed, the front of the TV is about 7 inches from the wall. If I had placed the duplex jack (male) in a slightly different location, the closed size would have been 1-1/4 inches smaller. Moving the cable box with the Velcro will make the same change. An 18 inch (0.5 m) HDMI cable helps you keep everything in view. Removing the installed TV from the wall adapter is very easy but requires two people: one to hold/lift the TV and the other to pull the locking pin and locking tab. Reinstalling the TV is just as easy and can be done by one person, although two people could help ensure the TV mounting tab is in the wall bracket. I did it both ways. Adding a speaker bar would require adding another outlet and built-in connections, which is easy but expensive for an uninsulated wall. This rating combines 5 for the first device and 2-3 for the second because the vertical mounting bar is too long.

Pros
  • This intricate single bolt TV mount features hidden hardware and a modern, organic shape that is both functional and sophisticated. With cable management channels on the mount, you can organize and hide unsightly power cords and HDMI cables in the mounting bracket for a sleek and clean wireless profile.
Cons
  • Very expensive
