Review on Install Bay ANL100 10 Fuses Pack by Brent Peterson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They seem to be priced right

I bought the 100A version of the fuses because I can test them and I really wanted to build confidence in Install Bay's ANL fuses before I trust them. my car to him. Now that I know they work, I'll probably buy the 250A version, which works better for my purposes, but I won't be able to scientifically test them. First, I visually inspected all the fuses. They were sent in a thin plastic bag, all ten together. I ended up with a couple of fuses with top or bottom terminals, but they still fit in the ANL fuse box. Most of them were fine, and knowing I'd blow a few on purpose, the bent connectors didn't bother me too much. All ten fuses had window glass. The glass window is important because the fuse will blow, glow and pop. The part of the fuse under the glass is the same shape, so they should work the same way. I used Harbor Freight's 500A battery tester, which can draw about 300A maximum. I ran about 100A through the fuse for 30 seconds with no ill effects (the battery tester has a limit on how long it can dissipate a large amount of heat) and then increased the current to about 200A, blowing the fuse in two or three seconds eloped. . So the behavior of the fuses is similar to that of the Blue Sea ANL fuses. It's literally a tenth the cost of Blue Sea fuses and they seem to work the same so I'm happy. There's a certain sloppiness in how the pieces fit together and the packaging makes the fuses prone to damage in transit, keeping them from five stars.

Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
