They look a little big at first glance but they are actually wool and will shrink in the washer/dryer so the end result is a well fitting base layer. This double layer pant is very warm. They're also a little thicker. If your top pant is tight, then it may be too tight with the bottom pant - this happens with multiple layers of clothing. My son and boyfriend have these pants as they work outside. They stay warm outside when it's -10F outside and are moderately active.
