How to review? good for me

Let's be honest and address the 800lb elephant in the room. How do we know this is really fireproof?I've seen several videos that seem to attempt to prove its fireworthiness by putting the bag in a small grass/stick fire or putting the bag on the stove. Unfortunately, while that does show that the bag isn't going to ignite into flames on contact with a fire, it doesn't do anything to tell us whether the bag would survive the intense heat of a house fire.ULTIMATELY, we have to trust the company. So. how does one know whether to trust the company? Well, the FIRST thing that I did was go to the company's page to see what else the do. I found that Tamfile seems to do fireproof document bags. That's a promising start. If they were just an import/export company that did tons of stuff and these bags were just one product, I wouldn't place as much trust in them. But they seem to specialize in fireproof document storage. That's good!On the other hand, in an effort to find out more about these bags I have watched quite a few videos that make me very cautious about most of them. There are a lot of bags that when tested, do not protect your goods at all.Next I read the product description in which it claims to have passed the UL94-VTM-0 test for fire resistance. Let's look into that.According to wikipedia, the UL 94, the Standard for Safety of Flammability of Plastic Materials for Parts in Devices and Appliances testing, is a plastics flammability standard released by Underwriters Laboratories of the United States. The standard determines the material’s tendency to either extinguish or spread the flame once the specimen has been ignited. To me, this doesn't sound ANYTHING like the test that should be done on a bag like this.I highly recommend looking up the following video on YouTube if you would like to know more about this:Basic Flammability Test Method Vertical FlamePerhaps you will come to the conclusion that I am misunderstanding things, but it doesn't look like this is an accurate listing of the correct UL test that would need to be done on a fireproof bag.Which leaves us at this logical point --- it is probably not possible for us to know if these bags could survive a fire, but there are some seriously concerning problems with what I see so far. I would NOT recommend putting money, valuables or anything irreplaceable in one of these bags and count on it surviving a house fire.So my review will be strictly based on the organization, quality and vague idea that there might be some signs of quality that lead me to believe it could work as an organizer that WOULD NOT SURVIVE A HOUSE FIRE.Looking at quailty, the Tamfile XLarge Document Organizer File Storage Bag,Fireproof & Waterproof Travel Important Document Holder Box with Safe Code Lock and Shoulder Strap, Large and Multi-Layer Storage Space(17/12/6inch) looks good! The layout is great for storing items and it has LOTS of room compared to some of the solid metal safes I have owned.I am always skeptical of the ZIPPERS on supposedly fire-proof bags, those are often made of nylon and there doesn't seem to be any way that these could possibly stay alive after a fire. They also seem like a breach point.I believe that this bag deserves a 2 stars rating for being a good organizational bag. I do not PERSONALLY trust it to be fireproof in any way that would allow it to survive a house fire or to protect documents inside from a house fire. I see nothing in the claims that support that either. The UL 94 rating is a PLASTICS flammability test that doesn't appear to apply to a product like this and it does not measure the temperatures that would take place inside the bag in any way at all. It feels suspiciously like disingenuous product listing.I'm going to give this two stars, since it could organize your papers. But I'd put the bag in a bank safe deposit box.PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH and don't just take my word for it. But I think this isn't a fireproof bag at all. Thank you for reading my review. I take my reviews very seriously and I think it is super important for us to share our experiences on Best Buy so that we can help each other out to spot products that don't live up to their claims, and ALSO to share great products with one another so we can find the right products to make our lives easier. I feel like the Best Buy review process is a great way to share this information and I try to do the best job I can when I write a review.I am not perfect though, so if there is anything I have left out, or that you have a question for me about the product or my review, PLEASE feel free to visit my Best Buy Profile and e-mail me at the address there and I will try to get back to you as quickly as possible! Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been helpful.
