These pads are very sticky on one side and smooth to the touch on the other. They are thick enough to be used on large furniture. We have two large teak dressers and a real platform bed. We cut large felt pads into strips to attach to the bottom frame of our bed and dresser. We placed four pieces of felt about 1-2" long on each side to offset the extra weight of the boxes and mattress. They snapped easily onto our new hardwood floors. Then we put in the drawers and the mattress. Chests of drawers can still be pushed with difficulty, but without chests of drawers it's easy for one person.
