I used this with Linux. It's easy to fix and works very well as a GPS receiver for location data. But it doesn't have the ability to control the PPS signal to synchronize the time. When you open the case, the PPS signal appears and the LED flashes. It would probably be possible to use this, but this is a very small surface mount LED and soldering would be difficult for people who don't know how to solder electrical components.
