I spent nearly twice as much on alternative rock speakers before committing to OSD. Then I wondered if I would regret not having bought the more expensive ones. I figured I had nothing to lose as I could send them back if I didn't like them. Well I'm more than happy. Right out of the box I thought wow. Indeed? I hook them up to a decent but relatively cheap Sony amp and they sound fantastic. (I also opted for some good quality, chunky 16 gauge speaker wire - quality wire will do the trick for a long time.) The instrument separation and vocal placement is very appealing. They're tight across the range, never dampened, with tight bass, crisp highs and open mids. At this price I was expecting the separation to be a bit muddy, the bass maybe a bit harsh when pressed and the highs a bit bright, but that couldn't be further from the truth. They are clean and clear, they are pleasant to listen to. I have them at the back of the pool, facing the patio. They're about 30 feet apart and the soundstage is amazing at this price point. Floating on a float in the pool to the music on the pool level is also something special. I was expecting them to be some kind of hard plastic. Material, but they are made of rubbery material and appear to be very well constructed. These speakers exceeded my expectations and I am very satisfied. Buy with confidence.
