Sketchbook Stellar Mix Media!

Canson's XL series may appeal to many. When they say mixed media, they mean it, unlike others. I've used pencil, pen, text, charcoal and watercolor on this album and it sticks VERY well with everything. side panel. With watercolors I'd say you get some side warping (still great for light washing/studying/testing) but I haven't experienced much bleed. (It's weird sometimes that paper doesn't accept watercolors, but if you work on it for a few seconds it tends to absorb.) Also, paper tends to tear if it's too saturated with water, so I definitely would stick with light washes / research/tests. Don't overdo it with wet media. (I know this seems a bit critical, but I've had a lot of success with that wet media album! Just don't mess with it too much.) under the page you're drawing on. In general, the paper is really great. Thick, heavy and durable. The paper washes easily without damaging the paper and the binding is holding up well.

Pros
  • Made of thick paper with a fine texture
Cons
  • Crumpled
