This is my second purchase of these Gasare silicone mats. Have used them for several years. Perfect for covering the annoying gap between gas range and marble counters, but also as a protective surface for regular kitchen mess around the cooking area. I don’t use these for heat protection for hot pans—I prefer thicker trivets for that. What I really like is that they’re long enough to cover the gap entirely, and their translucence allows my marble countertops to show through.The older ones I have look as good now as when originally purchased a few years ago, so they do last and have not discolored. I’m having to order more because I’m using the original ones (cut in smaller pieces) for protection elsewhere. I have to use a damp cloth to wipe clean—you can’t just brush them off. But they’re also easy to wash quickly in a basin & dry fast. I did not try another brand because I know these work well; good quality. They were well packaged and arrived in perfect shape.
