I bought this to inflate my Sea Eagle fishing raft which requires 3.2psi. It's a two-stage pump, meaning it uses a high-volume, low-pressure pump to quickly inflate an object to around 0.8psi, then switches to a piston pump for higher pressure. The high-pressure piston pump has a small volume like most car tire inflator pumps, and it is louder than the first stage pump, but not too loud. My 10ft boat has 3 airbags. This pump pressurizes each chamber to 3.2psi in about 3 minutes. Operation is fully automatic as soon as the pump hose is connected to the air valve using the appropriate adapter and the power cable is connected to the cigarette lighter socket. The instructions are useless. They don't discuss at all about choosing the right adapter or what to do if the adapter doesn't fit the valve like it happened to me. At one point I realized that the neoprene consumable padding on the adapter was too thick and then realized that as a precaution they were careful to fit a thinner one. It worked, but no, thanks to the instructions (which are written in clumsy English). I still have 2 complaints. First, the air hose is made of very hard plastic and is difficult to use in cold weather. Secondly, they do not give any information on how to buy spare parts for it. The good news is that this pump seems to work very well for its intended purpose and costs 30-40% less than brand name two stage pumps.
