Most reviews say plug and play. While this is ultimately true, I will say that in my experience it took a bit of fiddling. I first tried this on my ARC HDMI port with no success. Similar product reviews state that your TV is compatible with the specific resolution of this device. I'm assuming my Samsung 55 inch is compatible, but the device only worked about 15-20 minutes after I plugged it into my other HDMI port. I really thought at first that the device would not work. But as I researched more and looked at reviews and Q&A, it just started working on its own. I think the smart tv spent enough time looking for one signal type and then switched to looking for another? To be honest I have no idea other than that it works now. If you understand this, just be patient and try to fix basic issues before going back.
