Review on Mirrycle MTB Mountain Bicycle Mirror by Robert Long

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Really good basic mirror with spares available.

Possibly the best rear view mirror I have ever seen. It's ugly and sticks out, but it works well, and while it will wobble, it's big enough that I can see what's going on behind it. It twists when it needs to, but doesn't flap around with every hit - although how tight or loose it really is depends on how it's set up when assembled. The best part is that parts for the mirror are readily available - I broke the glass and bought this part for less than $5 with shipping. Although I broke the glass I have to say I don't feel bad about it as every good mirror uses glass. However, the glass doesn't look like safety glass, but I don't know if that's typical of mirrors. I have measured the diameters of the two handlebar inserts that came with the mirror: tools are required to install the mirror. When I ride my dog trailer, I complement this mirror with a seatpost mounted Mobius action camera (wide angle) connected to my phone with an OTG cable and the Mobius USB Tools app for Android. I also use the lock screen app in landscape mode. This combination gives a reversing camera that shows up on my phone that I attach to the steering wheel (I use it to keep an eye on my dog, but it's functional as a mirror). I found it more comfortable to look directly behind the mirror with the phone as the field of view is larger, although there is a slight lag. However, unlike my phone/camera, the Mirrycle is always on and ready to go.
