I was glad to get this to learn about electronics but it was very frustrating. The textbooks are obviously written by someone who is not a native English speaker. I'm happier going to youtube to find out how it works. I was expecting a guide on how to start over since I didn't know anything about breadboards, jumpers, etc. But eventually my LED blinked. Then I tried to get the button to work. Vain. Went back to the simplified blink program and felt like I finally got the basics down. got it working The next day I wanted to try something more complicated with some LEDs, but first I ran yesterday's program and although nothing had changed in the hardware or software, it didn't work. I think I removed the jumper from the GPIO pin I had. Put it on the power pin 3.3 instead. The LED lit up letting me know (I thought) my circuit is fine. But when trying to do the same today, the LED lights up uncertainly (on some it lights up and then goes out, the jumper seems too loose), so I suspect the problem is in the breadboard itself? I am completely upset. Just so you know I'm not a complete idiot, I have 35 years of professional programming experience. And I did a lot of electrical work at home with my own hands - added circuits, redid the wiring in the garage, ran the 220 line, etc. So it should be right in my wheelhouse. I think I just bought a bad set? I'm considering buying a new breadboard elsewhere and maybe some other parts, but I'm wondering how to rate the quality so I don't run into the same issues.
