Bought to replace a previous (10+ year old) model. The LED display is bigger and some memory functions have been improved, but the sound is actually worse! How can it be? With a smartphone, many have decided that the "phone" part is secondary to the camera, music, calendar, etc., but this is ONLY a phone - why else would anyone use it? I know landlines like this are becoming dinosaurs fast and I guess manufacturers don't invest much in new innovations but I'm still surprised the sound/speakers aren't better. By the way, that wasn't my first choice. I tried the VTech system that came with the wireless headset but the sound was really terrible. I bought/returned another Panasonic model because I found it didn't have a headphone jack, which is crucial for me. This model will work, but it's a disappointment. I estimate that in 5-10 years when it's worn out there won't be any land lines available. UPDATE: Well, I've been buying for 13 months now. I had to bring two cell phones to be repaired. (They have good customer service.) My grace period of one year plus one month expires next week. I can only hope to use them for another year or so. I assume that I will need another set, unfortunately it will not be a Panasonic.
