Review on Cat Mate Inc Locking Door by Travis Kjar

I live in Indiana and we've had some record-breaking winters since installing it and it's been great. The thin "bristles" around the plastic valve were frozen from the freezing rain/snow, but after loosening them with warm water they were fine. I think it's very effective at keeping cold air out, and the four-way blocking is a nice feature too. Just a tip if you are having trouble teaching your cats to use the door, or in my case semi-feral cats. which I couldn't get close enough for an "instruction guide", I attached a large black binding clip (used in most offices, black metal binding with silver pins) to each side of a plastic flap with tabs on each side that made the door stay open (open to the inside of the garage) to allow cats to get in easily and then out easily as well. Once they got used to it I changed the binding clips to a medium sized binding clip and moved the clip down a bit making the hole smaller but still the same concept and after a couple of weeks or so I finally removed the clips. all together, and they figured it out by then. I am planning to buy two more to install in my outdoor cat house. I highly recommend this cat door. Many Thanks.
