The product helps to increase the height of the furniture. This comes in handy if you are elderly or have recently had surgery and need help getting off the couch. It allows several different heights. Be sure to measure your furniture legs to ensure these risers will work. My sofa legs were too big and the risers were unstable. But they work great on the bed. The reason for the three star rating is that these rubber/plastic items need to outgas. I had to put them in the sun for a week to make the smell bearable. You get what you pay for.
