I've had several (just over ten) variations of this type of adapter, and regardless of source, the following applies to all. For me, about half of these USB card reader adapters failed within the first week to 30 days of almost daily use, while others are used almost daily for over a year and two to just over two years. It's probably a good idea to make sure they're around half or just over a third the cost of the more expensive larger versions. Unless you can buy 2 or 3 of these for the cost of more expensive USB reading adapters, it's probably not worth buying. Also, I would suggest ordering at least two to increase the chances of getting one that will last and having a spare if the first one suddenly stops working. Also, it's probably not worth sending in defective units for replacement as the replacement should also have a 50/50 chance of failing. On the other hand, although 5 or 6 of these devices eventually failed, I only had one failure where some data on the SD card was lost. .
