I tossed between this player and a similar Crosley model - both had about the same ratings - but in the end I settled on this one. The player is lightweight and inexpensive, so I didn't know what to expect when I launched it. I was positively surprised. For the price, this standalone player (player/case/speaker) exceeded my expectations and I'm glad I chose it. The colors match the dark wood of my Victorian home perfectly; sound quality is good; It's plug and play and easy to use (my 8 year old can use it with ease); and the size and weight make it perfect for everyday use or on the go. You can't go wrong with Victrola.
