Review on Black Hydrapak Blaster BITE Valve with 1/4-Inch Inner Diameter (I.D.) by Chris Pettway

I'm a big fan of this bite valve. I have replaced the standard valve on all my Platypus Hoser tanks with these valves. Platypuses make great tanks, but their valves are only so-so. So the flow might not be as fast as a standard duckbill valve, but I still prefer this one. Pros: The round design allows it to be used regardless of its orientation in the mouth. Supplied with on/off valve. Comes with an angle head cap, reduces the bend in the pipe when you don't have a great length to work with, this reduces the stress on you during use. Fits perfectly on the platypus snorkel. Actually fits through the snorkel passage of my Mystery Ranch Scree bag. Cons: Doesn't flow as fast as a standard platypus valve. As you can see, the pros far outweigh the cons. This is a great upgrade from the standard valve on Platypus tanks.
