If you steer the dive because the nozzle is open so wide you can giggle, but if you draw into the base of the product it just creates big clouds of vapor. It will be good with a fatty product. Suitable for wax and splinters. I'm not sure about sugar. I use this every day, all day. Wanted one that I could drop and not ruin, it rolled off the table and was perfectly fine. The width of the silicone shaft means you don't have to worry about melting placemats, but it does drip a little after heavy use, like all collectors. The simple design makes it easy to freeze and recover from grinding. It's very easy to clean with 80% alcohol (which can then be vaporized for more regeneration) and you can add salt to the clean if you like, but it's not necessary. Best dollars I've spent. Great for parties as you can wipe the mouthpiece with an alcohol wipe between uses.
