I love this strap for my Fitbit! I've read other reviews that mentioned covering the metal with clear nail polish and getting a protective film in case of scratches. I did both to be on the safe side. These instructions say to cut off the excess, but I'm not worried about leaving it. It was a bit tight at first but after a few weeks of wearing the fit loosened up a bit and was very comfortable. I was concerned that it would not sit as securely on my wrist as the original watch strap it came with, but having connected all the clasps and practiced with them, I found that it stays in place.
