This is my first safety razor that I have ever bought. I use dollar razors for shaving but after using the blade a few times they clog with hair just like cartridges of all brands. I wanted something more efficient, greener and cheaper. I didn't want to spend a lot just in case it's not for me, but for around $10 it's worth a try. After doing some research I knew for sure I needed a butterfly (or twist to open) as it looks like it would be easier to swap out the blades. I also knew I wanted one with a longer handle, which this one had. It meets all my criteria, which is why I got it. My first impression is that it's really well made, has a good weight and feels really solid. The opening mechanism was nice and smooth and the blade was easy to insert. I also like the blades that come with the kit. Not to mention it comes with 10 which is really generous for how much I paid for the set. The blades turned out nice and sharp as expected. I was able to shave my legs very easily once I got the hang of it. Since the head doesn't rotate like on modern cartridge razors, you have to be more careful about what you're doing, but I feel like I shave much better and my skin doesn't feel eaten away afterwards. I can always save my dollar razors for "more sensitive" areas until I have more experience with a safety razor. But other than that, I'll make it my favorite razor from now on. I am very happy with it. I only got it today so I'll update my review if I have any issues with it, but so far it seems like it's been a good choice, especially for a newbie like me :)
