I bought this fan to use in my cycling class. When I arrived I plugged it in to charge and it worked fine. It sat in it for a few days before I took it to the exercise bike class today. The fan stopped blowing 20 minutes after the class started. I thought it was a cheap thing because the battery was dead. About three minutes later I smelled burning plastic. I picked up my fan and the light started going crazy. Then I noticed that the charging port was hot. The plastic began to melt and bend. I jumped off my bike and ran out into the hallway where I smelled smoke and saw an orange light in the cracked part. I went outside and luckily the cold air cooled the device down. The plastic has started to harden and no longer appears to be burning. I returned to the cycling class after completing the course, but definitely kept an eye on my fan. Luckily he never started smoking again. But it's definitely no longer usable and I wouldn't try to turn it on. This seems to be an isolated case, another girl in my class has the same fan but her fan doesn't light up. She had no problems. I definitely recommend keeping an eye on it while it's charging. I'm grateful I didn't charge it overnight because I feel like it could have started a fire and burned my house down.
