Upgrade to Jeep JK Stock Stereo

2018 JK 2-Door with Stock Stereo (non-Alpine). I had already replaced the standard speakers with a PA DB652 but wanted some bass. The 2-door JK cab is small so you don't have to go overboard. This subwoofer fits. Installation is easy if you are familiar with car audio systems. There are a couple of low-hanging pieces under the JK front seats, so they dig into the rear seat legroom a bit. Don't worry as the back seat is in the attic. The wiring harness in the kit is fine, but this is where it loses the star. ALL cables go to a connector that connects to the subwoofer. I used an RCA cable with an adapter to allow the unused tweeter wires to dangle. I understand why they did it (the cost and the simplification of the PCB it plugs into), but I don't feel like cutting them. still thinking about it The power cable to the battery is also on this connector, so I had to strip it (or cut and splice, which I prefer not to do) to get it through a small hole in the firewall. Not difficult but uncomfortable. Now for the sound. I'm still playing with LPF and gain (currently around 100Hz and 1/4 turn, NO GAIN) but I think I'm close. I like it. It REALLY rounds out the sound and opens up the bass. Windows doesn't knock, but I don't need it. So far, so good! Recommend Jeeper to friends.
