Great for Jeep JKU for car electronics

Used in 2017 Rubicon Recon Unlimited. I have a stock head unit and recently installed four upgraded foosball speakers (I strongly recommend upgraded speakers over cheap stock ones and installation is fairly easy). I chose this subwoofer because the others were too big. Yes, they all fit under the passenger seat, but other subwoofers take up valuable rear seat legroom. The JKU firewall also has an opening above the glove compartment; The yellow insulation on the door does not need to be pierced.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Upgrade to Jeep JK Stock Stereo

2018 JK 2-Door with Stock Stereo (non-Alpine). I had already replaced the standard speakers with a PA DB652 but wanted some bass. The 2-door JK cab is small so you don't have to go overboard. This subwoofer fits. Installation is easy if you are familiar with car audio systems. There are a couple of low-hanging pieces under the JK front seats, so they dig into the rear seat legroom a bit. Don't worry as the back seat is in the attic. The wiring harness in the kit is fine, but this is where it…

I have very little space in my GMC truck and have recently upgraded to a Pioneer head unit and some JBL concert. Series of 6 inch speakers. While the aftermarket head unit and speakers were a huge upgrade over the factory radio/speaker system, I really missed the bass. My truck doesn't have room for a large subwoofer and I really wanted something small that would fit under my seat. This device fits perfectly, installation is very easy and overall it's easy to get up and running. The tricky part

Big bang for your buck, or is it a blast?

I installed this subwoofer in my 1994 F-150 single cab truck. Spacing was good even after adding another 3/4 inch of depth for a "custom" mount I made. This was the first time I've installed non-original speakers or decks in a car, it took around 4-5 hours including troubleshooting. I also bought a Jensen single din head unit to go with this subwoofer and the standard speakers. Plugging it together wasn't too bad with the instructions provided, even with my lack of electrical experience, but I…

Surprisingly good bass for an ultra-compact 8 " case!

Looks like I'm the first to review this product. 8" subwoofer with recoil amplifier. I have a Pioneer deck with aftermarket speakers pulling the deck's power, so I was looking for a low profile and compact subwoofer with an amplifier to fill the low frequencies in my van. I used to have a Rockville in a previous van so I wanted to try something different and not go broke. The round shape of this sub caught my eye, it's about 9 inches wide by 3 inches tall, super compact but it has some weight…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Great subwoofer for low price car

Installation: The recoil sl1708 subwoofer was very easy to install on my 2016 Subaru Forester with the included wiring harness. The hardest part was going through the firewall as there were no rubber grommets in the car to run the wire through. I'm by no means a car audio pro, but I installed quite a few amps/subwoofers when I was young. For my application it did not fit under the driver/passenger seat as there were seat controls preventing it from sliding back and into place. I ended up…

Honest Review + Detailed Installation Instructions

Hi Revain, I drive a 2005 Xterra. you dive I am a certified low voltage electrician so my instructions will be trusted. Check first after installation. The entire subwoofer installation took about 4 hours. This included cutting into my speakers, finding the firewall grommet, hanging and installing the power cord, and pulling the trim to hide the cords. After about 2 weeks of use, I unhooked the subwoofer for about 4 days. It was under my seat on a small platform I built to keep it off the…
