Review on Recoil SL1708 Under Seat Amplified Subwoofer by Allan Duman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really good punch for its size, fills in the 80Hz and lower frequencies that I was missing

I have very little space in my GMC truck and have recently upgraded to a Pioneer head unit and some JBL concert. Series of 6 inch speakers. While the aftermarket head unit and speakers were a huge upgrade over the factory radio/speaker system, I really missed the bass. My truck doesn't have room for a large subwoofer and I really wanted something small that would fit under my seat. This device fits perfectly, installation is very easy and overall it's easy to get up and running. The tricky part was getting the bass to cross smoothly with the JBLs. I hooked up my unit under the driver's seat (it completely disappears there) and also installed and hooked up the power controller under the steering column. I used 6ft RCA cables from my Pioneer unit (using the SW output) to the Recoil Unit used Placing the subwoofer was difficult as I don't experiment and change many EQ settings (it's better to disable the volume/bass boost in the main unit to get the best sound). /30Hz from Pioneer and carefully adjust the analog controls in the Recoil block: Bass Boost, LPF and Gain to get a good setup. So my bass now starts thumping around 80Hz and deepens into the 30Hz range with no distortion. The truck doesn't rattle, but it pairs well with the JBL speakers on the doors, and the overall sound is very clear and suits many genres of music. I hope I can find another unit of this.
