I connected a DirecTV C61W Genie Mini Wireless Mini to my audio system with an HDMI cable. I wanted a second analog stereo audio output to a separate receiver that would power my deck and bedroom speakers. There's an RCA digital audio jack on the back of the C61W, but it doesn't seem to do anything and DirecTV tech support can't explain what it's for. They also weren't sure if a 10 pin output would work and told me to just give it a try. So I bought this cable and it really works. Not much invested and exactly what I wanted to achieve. Don't waste time using the digital audio jack. Just buy this cable and plug and play.
