Since I read reviews before buying anything, I have to confess that I wasn't looking for spices when I was looking for this. I became aware of Gneiss spice jars after reading a cookbook review. Someone mentioned gneiss spices in a review of this book. I was intrigued by the company's name, so I looked it up. I immediately liked what I saw! With a teenage daughter who loves to cook and has a driver's license, I constantly had to deal with her running to the store for condiments that were already in my cupboard. I thought it would be better for them to make them more visible, so I immediately liked the idea. I also liked that they were hexagonal which made them more compact. Being able to attach the fridge door and also clean the other cupboard was a plus. I chose do-it-yourself jars instead of jars already filled. Since I had a lot of spices, sometimes twice as much, it made no sense to buy filled jars. I have to admit I've noticed other spice jars listed at Revain and yes some of them were chesper but there was something about the strength of these jars that I liked. I believe that there are things that cannot be skimped on. I wasn't disappointed at all! With the first order I introduced a strong seasoning with salt. When the glass on the fridge door started to slide, I contacted Gneiss customer service and they immediately sent me another piece of magnet with a stronger magnet inside. When I ordered a second set of jars, I broke one while carrying the condiments. I contacted them again and they sent one straight away. So I believe the price difference is offset by the quality of the product and friendly customer service. In a world that has started to skimp on customer service, this is definitely the only company that offers the right customer service.
