Cannot find a suitable shaker attachment.

They are absolutely beautiful and well made, but sadly without the shaker lid, adding spices becomes more of a hassle. I knew they didn't come with shaker tops. What I didn't know is that finding the right shakers is impossible! The diameter of the top isn't a standard size, and I'm afraid even if it were, the lid's magnetic protrusion would complicate things even more. I hate leaving critical reviews, especially for a small business, but I think it's important to share this with others. If I…

Rusted and unusable after only a few months

As you can see in the photo I've attached to my review I wouldn't recommend it. I bought the smallest size set that Gneiss offers and after just a few months the inner magnet is rusty and smells awful. The quality is terrible too - they're basically tiny jam jar containers with a metal disc "glued" to the inside with extremely powerful magnets, so when you close the jar they stick to your fridge from the inside of the lid . It would be much better if they used a regular lid on the inside and…

DIY would be much better

I liked the concept, especially for small living spaces, but these jars are a bit of a nightmare. First, they are small (see picture). This is the standard size for spices compared to small gneiss jars. When full they don't stick to the fridge but slide down, the strength of the magnet is just a joke. Impossible to dry them 100%, the water gets stuck behind the magnet on the lid and is almost impossible to remove to dry completely. The price is quite high for their tiny size and the overall…

I love big glasses - they have a lot of space.

I ordered a set of large glasses and a set of small glasses. I love big glasses - they hold a lot and look great. However, I am sending the small glasses back as they are not big enough. The description mentions that they hold a meager 1/4 cup. This is a misconception - they barely hold 2 tablespoons of dried spices or herbs. The aim was to replace the small glasses in the cupboard with these on the fridge. Unfortunately I still had all those little jars in the cupboard because I couldn't pour…

Better than a DIY project but they do what they advertise

This is a larger version of these little ones and in most cases it contains lots of spices. The first thing you'll ask yourself after buying it is "why the heck are they so expensive?". And you will blame yourself for not doing it yourself. Hi? The magnet sticks to the inside lid of the baby food jar! How much did I pay for them? But they work, the magnet is pretty strong. Can be easily attached to the refrigerator and frees up a lot of space in the cupboard. You can arrange them in cute…

Expensive but I love them!

I just received it today, so I can't say anything about its durability yet. But do you know that when I went shopping I was thinking the same thing as you: WHY are they so expensive?! I'm the type of guy who keeps scrolling through Amazon looking for a budget yet affordable version of what I'm looking for. I even considered making my own - I scoured the blogs for suggestions on how to make your own jars or cans, rare earth magnets, etc. Ultimately, however, I decided to give them a try despite…

Since I read reviews before buying anything, I have to confess that I wasn't looking for spices when I was looking for this. I became aware of Gneiss spice jars after reading a cookbook review. Someone mentioned gneiss spices in a review of this book. I was intrigued by the company's name, so I looked it up. I immediately liked what I saw! With a teenage daughter who loves to cook and has a driver's license, I constantly had to deal with her running to the store for condiments that were already
