Professional Photographer INCREDIBLY IMPRESSIVE! I bought this camera for "family fun" and vacation cameras (when I don't want to lug around our heavy professional bodies and lenses). Features: The AP-C size sensor is truly amazing. The picture quality is fantastic. The viewfinder is appreciated and functional! Pros: - Image quality rivals my old D7000 which was much heavier, bigger, bulkier and more expensive - Wi-Fi is a GREAT feature! Now I can take professional-quality photos and send them to my smartphone for instant posting on Facebook. The digital viewfinder is great because it shows you in real time what your manual settings will look like when you take a picture (as opposed to snap/snap). review process with pro committees). Also, the screen turns on and off automatically to save battery. Size and weight, I can't believe they pack so much technology into such a small package at such an affordable price! Excellent lenses are available for advanced users (sold separately). or those looking for professional quality photos. Recommendation #1 SEL35F18 35mm f/1.8 prime (becomes f/50 for this IS crop sensor) Cons: Processing in the camera isn't as advanced as older and less qualified Nikon J bodies, not like this weatherproof like Olympus or other mirrorless bodies (originally I was going to go with a different Nikon 1 AW series for all weather but the image quality wasn't nearly as good. However, when I'm shooting in the snow/rain I get paranoid, this camera will do will break if it gets wet or very wet (unlike many other weatherproof options). - RAW quality is not as easily compatible with Photoshop, and RAW is not as impressive in enhancement/versatility as my Nikon bodies. No, when you buy this camera, just use it as a jpeg shooter and save it on your memory card/computer memory. Some information about me; I shoot professionally and use Nikon bodies. My previous mirrorless camera was the J3, but the image quality was too poor in low light, so I had to look for an alternative. I'm incredibly impressed with Sony! If you're looking for a camera that you can snowboard or surf with, I'd recommend the Nikon AW1 (more expensive and lower quality, but water, shock and freeze resistant) if you're going to be using the camera in less harsh conditions. but still feel that in-camera processing is important, or you need a camera that can withstand the rain, I recommend Olympus, because a cheaper Nikon J camera is great. If you want one of the highest quality mirrorless cameras and image quality is your priority, then this is for you.
