Review on Optimized Graco Pressure ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Roller Kit | Model 244512 by Richard Rosa

Great for big projects but not good with primer

I painted my entire house with this roller and a Graco Magnum X7 machine, about 12 gallons of primer, 6 gallons of ceiling paint and 10 gallons of latex paint. The latex paint (ceiling and wall) laid down great, very little dripping or spattering (I started with drip trays, but after the third room it didn't bother me anymore and I was left with a large flattened cardboard box under the pressure washer and a bucket of paint ). The primer got worse (thinner than the paint), with more drips, splatters, and poorer coverage. Not sure if it's the roller, the primer not rolling well or an issue with the paint I used, but the transition from primer to paint was a relief. , cleaning and paint waste. This is more suited to larger projects and painting one room probably isn't big enough (although I painted two individual rooms different colors as a "one room project"). and there is a limit to how deep the paint can go in the can before it fails to draw it (this is after I removed the small filter at the end of the inlet hose on the machine). The best way I have found to clean the roller is to first remove the roller from the frame by disassembling the roller itself and rinsing the plastic parts of the roller before cleaning the roller lint itself. A lot of paint is left on these plastic parts and it takes much longer to flush the roller assembly. The main problem was changing colors (e.g. primer to color or one color to another) - this of course requires thorough cleaning, but then there is too much water in the machine, in the roller frame and in the roller itself, so too after a full coat of paint (to the point of triggering with the roller removed until only viscous paint came out) you would still get plenty of water from the roller onto the wall before the paint started to roll. Waiting until everything is completely dry solves this problem, but sometimes lasting that long isn't realistic. Also, the swivel leaked unless tightened enough to stop rotating, but I still didn't find the swivel useful and actually preferred a stiff one, for both walls and ceiling. In general, I really liked this scooter. It's much easier to paint large areas this way, usually cutting down most of the work rather than rolling (it takes less than half an hour to fully roll a typical bedroom and about an hour to roll 2 gallons to roll paint to a large number ). The extension tube makes it easy to roll from floor to ceiling (at least for 8ft ceilings). I felt that riding it was a bit more physically demanding than regular rolling, mainly because you never stop rolling (which gives you a break). repetitive movements), but also due to the additional weight and volume of the hose that feeds the roller.
