be careful, a real fire hazard. I have owned it for 2 days and have used it twice. I was impressed the first time I did it in less than 2 minutes and I used it to desolder a component on an old circuit board and then unplug it. The second time I put it on the stand while preparing the parts for assembly and about 5 minutes after turning it on I heard a knock but didn't understand what it was until the countertop started smoking. The entire metal end of the iron melted through the plastic threads of the handle and fell out of the main body onto the countertop leaving a nice burn mark that I'm not yet sure how to fix. What worries me the most is that the ending could have been very different if I hadn't noticed it right away. It's only a matter of time before someone forgets to turn it off or gets distracted so long that it melts into pieces and starts a fire.
