Review on IOGEAR 4 Port Automatic Printer GUB431 by Dan Germain

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I like electronics

I bought this device to remove printing from my home network which is connected to the internet. I don't like the idea of my Chinese Canon wireless (or wired) printer being able to ship my stuff home without my permission! You can at least complicate things with this little gem. I've spent too much time learning how to turn off wireless printing on Canon LBP6230dw printer. Finally, I just rebooted the printer CD and chose "Wired" instead of "Wireless" ("Wired" and "USB" work pretty well together). Then I ran the installation CD for GUB431. With a USB cable from any Win 7 (64-bit) computer connected to the GUB431 and a USB cable to the printer, it installed fairly easily. Follow the instructions in the pictures in the little guide under "Settings" to make it work "automatically". I just finished installing today and it seems to be working great. If anything goes wrong, I'll come back here and report it.

Cons
