I liked the backpack for the first few weeks. Sir Kitty seems to like it. It weighs between 11 and 11.5 pounds and feels pretty comfortable to carry around. I took a stretcher to fly with Kitty (my adopted child) to bring him back to his parents and I took him on walks around town to get him used to the stretcher. Everyone loves it, and it's much more travel-friendly than traditional pet carriers. BUT. About the 3rd or 4th trip, in the Home Depot parking lot, I went to put on a stretcher (I had it on my lap in the car) and one of the straps came off completely! I called. Kitty screamed. my roommate shouted. Another lady in the parking lot screamed. Kitty was on her head, I nearly threw her onto the pavement but luckily I held on to the strap and poor Kitty just lay on her head for a few seconds before I straightened it. Well I needed some stuff at Home Depot so I just carried it in and put the carrier in the stroller to shop. No escape or anything, the wearer is still secure, just the strap has come loose. I don't have time to go back and switch airlines because my flight is coming up. So I will do everything in my power to reinforce all seams. I'll probably have to wear it on my chest at the airport for fear of everything else falling apart. I always keep my harness and leash in it, even if the rest falls apart it won't leave me. Similar to me, I advise you to go for another brand. Breaking the belt (I uploaded photos) is a MAJOR HAZARD. I'm just glad kitty wasn't hurt.
