Review on Crankbrothers M10 Multi-Tool with Protective Case by Tim Thornton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great multi tool that is second to none

After a set of hex keys in my seat pocket got some surface rust from getting wet I decided it was finally time to buy a real multi tool. I wanted something small and compact that offered some versatility, and this multi-tool was a perfect fit. I carry separate tire levers and a chain tool, so I didn't want my multi-tool to become redundant because it's just bulky and more difficult to use, and this tool is perfect even for my medium Topeak Aero Wedge seat pack. with my spare tube, chain tool, suspension links and puncture repair kit (CO2, tire levers, repair kit). The length of each tool is matched, offering the perfect balance of length and compact dimensions. I don't have any screws on the bike where I can't use this tool due to lack of space. The workmanship of the tool is excellent and the metal is very durable. I didn't have any rounded heads and even after intensive use the tool still looks like new. The all-metal finish is very appealing and the roughness on the outside offers an excellent grip even with sweaty hands. This product really does look and feel like it was made to last and is much nicer than some similar offerings from competing brands. Every tool here is useful and used often enough to warrant their inclusion, and I've never fallen for the bait. long drive without I think the main selling points are (1) competitive price, (2) all-metal body, (3) compact size, and (4) no unnecessary tools, making this 10-function multi-tool unbeatable. The description is not entirely complete, here are the full specifications: 7 Allen keys (2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm) and 3 screwdrivers (Phillips, flat and Torx T25) . The listing says it's 124g but my +/- 1g scale says it's 153g. However, I noticed a problem with this multitool. The bolts holding all the tools together came loose twice, presumably due to road vibration while I was in my handlebar bag. I lubricated the threads with Loctite Threadlocker Red 271 prior to reassembly and have had no problems since. For your health!
