It just worked but it was killing my eyes

I had to return it because while it "worked" it worked really bad and I could see constant scan lines on my desktop monitor and this is my eyes would kill. I had to use an HDMI to DVI cable and the other computer was a Linux laptop, so maybe that's part of the problem. Looked good on a laptop. At a certain price point in KVM switches, it makes sense to make room for more hardware instead. Never had any luck with anything like that.
