I thought the ceiling fan I bought last week from an unnamed Korean company was bad. But I might have to give two stars for this one to be worse. where to start The LED is not very bright, which was my goal when buying a new ceiling fan. Unlike any other ceiling fan I've had, yes this one dims but if it's then turned off and back on it doesn't come back on at full brightness. It saves the dimming setting. So there's no other way to go back to "full brightness" than to hold it down and let it toggle between dark/full until you HOPE can stop it at its brightest setting. But if you miss that split second, you'll try again. Let's keep getting started with crazy wire frames for a system that only comes with a tiny pole. Of course it's there if you need to use a longer pole, but I'd rather hook up the wires *if* I had to buy a separate long pole to hang this thing 6 feet from the ceiling. Instead I had to cut them all. Montage - what a horror. there are no blade fasteners - the tree bolts directly into the engine. And since the field is there, it's tilted, and trying to put screws in the holes was an exercise in EXTREME frustration. I've sworn more on installing this fan than I've ever worked on anythingโand I was in the military. The screws didn't catch, they crossed, they fell, and I had to climb down the stairs to follow them. An absolute nightmare. The two blades are attached with two screws and the third screw on each can only partially begin to work because they just don't go in and I only have them so all the blades have an even number on them so I didn't get involved with the balance Problem because one side is short. That tiny bottom bar makes it almost impossible to work with the wiring above because there just isn't enough room to lower the lantern cover, so you're stuck with that little space right on the ceiling. Then there is hesitation. Without the blade, this thing was horribly unbalanced (I only ever check ceiling fans with the lights on and at low speed before everything is turned on just to make sure the wiring is okay). So, despite my best efforts, getting rid of this hesitation is simply NOT. With three fan blades, neither of them is directly across from a wobbly "hot spot" and trying multiple points on opposite blades never improved the wobbling, so I can only run this thing at low speeds. I spent about an hour taking notes and trying almost every possible combination and couldn't get anywhere. An absolute nightmare. I would have kept the junk from Korea if it wasn't for the broken LED and even when it was off it flickered a bit which could be seen at night when the room was dark. But at least it wasn't as awful to assemble as this thing. I'm deciding whether or not to return it as Revane doesn't have a "junk piece" as a return option, but I'll probably box it. Backup, not being able to balance it, just makes this thing completely useless. And yes I have made tons of ceiling fans - people ask me to install them as I have so much experience that fan balancing is not difficult and I have not done it many, many times. It's just so bad that I can't even come close to achieving balance no matter what I try.
