I love these glass jars! They are the perfect size to carry a large portion of leftovers for lunch. The low, wide rectangular shape fits in a typical insulated lunch box with an ice pack if needed. I was specifically looking for glass containers to reheat food in the microwave without worrying about the plastic taste in the food. The lids are plastic, but I heat without the lid. The lids close very well - also for soup. I hand wash the covers to make them last longer. The only downside to reheating food in jars is that the jars can get very hot, even in the microwave. Watch as your fingers take it out of the microwave and grab a towel or something suitable to bring it back to the table! This is really not a problem for me as they suit my needs well. I love these containers and would definitely recommend them.
