Once turned on, it works. It's very quiet apart from the occasional gurgling/rattling of water filling the void. The essential oil diffuser is easy to use and works well. The large tank lasts almost a full week with continuous night use (I don't run it during the day but I work 10+ hours at night). The humidifier immediately transformed our room by not only diffusing the oil but also drastically increasing the humidity. My sleep improved immediately and I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a new humidifier.
