it barely works and is very difficult to close

I bought these for my brine shrimp hatchery and I need an air control valve and they were the cheapest I could find and bought them to find out what they are all leaking air and If I turned off my air pump it would start leaking WATER! makes a big mess for me but i think i get what i paid for.
