Review on πŸ”Œ GE 45155 Bullet Shape Extension: Extend Your Reach with Style and Efficiency by Tommy Rao

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works as advertised

This is a pretty clever way of turning a regular downlight into an adjustable spot that extends down from the ceiling at the end of a pole. It is nice and clean, painted a pleasant white color. Installation is as easy as screwing in a lightbulb. I would give it a much higher rating apart from the manufacturer's warning to only use an "R" reflector, no higher than 75 watts. This certainly limits the output and "pop" of this light and limits the many other lamp options available. For example using a narrow PAR30 spot halogen would make it a real accent light. My guess is that the heat these different types of bulbs can generate is a problem and potentially causing the unit to discolour. Or maybe they're just not suited (due to the screw design) to safely use brighter, hotter bulbs. However, it is a thoughtful design, perfect for highlighting a painting on a wall, shelf, or artwork, etc. I liked it so much that I bought a second one.

Cons
