This is my first Chromebook and I bought it to replace a 2014 Macbook Air. I read tons of reviews before buying and watched all the review videos on youtube. After a few days of use, this is what I like most and dislike about this device. What I like: - You can get a premium feel right out of the box. This was not to be expected considering the price, but the feeling is amazing. The case is metal (maybe aluminum?) on the top and plastic on the bottom. Everything falls tight, even the loop. Totally agree with the other reviews. Comfortable keyboard. It's easy to type, the keys have plenty of travel and feel solid enough. Many reviews state this and the laptop did not disappoint - Clear screen with relatively small bezels (less than 1/2Β¨) - Excellent performance. I was worried about 4GB of RAM and couldn't expand it. However, I had no problems with 8-10 open tabs in Chrome and two YouTube videos at the same time. This i3 along with Chrome OS does an amazing job. - USB-C charging port on both sides. What I don't like: - The touchpad is ok. Not a bad touchpad and it's quite large, but compared to any Macbook you'll feel the difference. I'm getting used to it, but it's not responding the way I'd like it to. The camera is mediocre. It is inferior compared to the 2014 MBA camera - The screen is very glossy. Watching a video with a light in the background will definitely get in the way. If you use it outdoors, it gets worse. - Difficult to use in tablet mode. In my opinion, the touchscreen is not needed at all. I hear a high-pitched, very faint noise coming from the back of the laptop. I don't know if it's the processor or the fan or whatever, but in a quiet room I find it annoying. Some other reviews also mentioned this issue. All in all I don't regret my purchase. Everything works quickly and I am pleased with the looks of this laptop every time I use it. -- ------------------------------ UPDATE JULY 20: - I drain my battery for more than 10 hours when I use it lightly (documents, web browsing, etc.). - I confirm that you can charge your device from either side of the USB-C port. - Always fast: Boot takes less than 10 seconds, Chrome opens instantly (literally less than half a second) - The main downside I found was the reflection of external light on the screen. It bothers me every time I watch a dark scene on Netflix. I can see my face perfectly, like a reflection on the black screen of my phone.
