Type of review

I bought this Chromebook in July 2020 and absolutely loved it until October of that year the right hinge broke and the touchscreen cracked rendering the Chromebook completely unusable. This was with normal usage. I haven't dropped a Chromebook or had an accident. I just lifted the screen to the top position and the hinge and touchscreen broke. I believe this is due to a design flaw (google search and see) as well as poor workmanship and material defects. Good luck trying to take advantage of…

Excellent purchase! for computers and tablets

What can I say, everything is as good as I thought. High quality and made very quickly! My other Windows 10 laptop has an i7, 8GB RAM and an SSD. It feels just as fast (or faster) for half the price and better portability.

Hinge design issue Best in computers and tablets

This is a mid-range Chromebook so I was expecting it to be some kind of "one-off" device, but this thing is less than broke 3 months easy use. The screen hinge is covered with a small piece of plastic from below. I suspect the hinge was too tight and the "stress" of closing the screen broke the glued plastic hinge mount. As a result, the frame buckled and the screen broke just above the hinge. Called Lenovo Tech Support, waited forever, gave them the model number and said it was a Chromebook…

Update after six months

After six months of use, the right hinge broke and the screen started to sag. Looks like bad design. At Lenovo repair you fill out a repair ticket but there is no information on where to send it, RMA or other information. I have laptops that are over four years old and have no hinge issues. *UPDATE* Lenovo fixed the hinge but the covers broke in the process. Looks like they used a crowbar to pry it out. It took three months to return the device. I would look at Acer Spin for that.

Great Chromebook, especially for the price!

I've been using it for about a week and I can say it's worth the money. Looks like a $600 CB. The screen is good, the assembly is excellent, 4GB is not a problem at all. The keyboard is backlit and is comfortable to type on. The i3 didn't slow down anything I threw at it, and yes it's not fanless, but the fan is only audible under very heavy use in an almost-quiet room. The only issue right now is that there aren't many USI pens to buy, but that's not really Lenovo's fault. I don't understand…

Excellent Chromebook for $400

Before that I used some Chromebooks (Samsung, Pixelbook, Acer, HP). This time I wanted something with a 14-inch Full HD screen and an Intel Core i3+ processor (the main processor for my kids), but also something fast. For $400, this Chromebook is impressive, has a solid build, and is fairly light. - Great keyboard with well-placed keys. - Crisp HD touch screen. - The device works well with a moderate number of open tabs, streaming two YouTube videos is no problem. - Folding screen feels good…

Not a $409 laptop! best in 2 in 1 Laptops

This is my first Chromebook and I bought it to replace a 2014 Macbook Air. I read tons of reviews before buying and watched all the review videos on youtube. After a few days of use, this is what I like most and dislike about this device. What I like: - You can get a premium feel right out of the box. This was not to be expected considering the price, but the feeling is amazing. The case is metal (maybe aluminum?) on the top and plastic on the bottom. Everything falls tight, even the loop…

The right hinge broke! Beware!

Fixed - 3/9/21 As other users have complained, the right monitor hinge is broken. I can't open/close the laptop unless I do it very slowly with both hands so as not to break the monitor. From what everyone says I think I'm SOL. However, I will contact Lenovo to see if this fixes the issue. Corrected - September 30, 2020 I have to apologize to Lenovo. The problems I encountered were the result of my own actions. I forgot that some time ago I put the operating system in development mode and that…

Cheap, practical, fast, long battery life, beautiful design

Chromebook with the best value for money, with the beauty of high quality but overpriced Samsung, Asus or Pixelbook. This little book is perfect in almost every way. Overall, this Chromebook is perfect for what I bought it for: web work tasks, surfing the web, using Google Docs to type documents and type, organize thoughts and ideas in productivity apps, and jot down tasks in my Microsoft To -To Do List App. This Chromebook turns on in a flash, connects to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, opens apps and…
