Fixed - 3/9/21 As other users have complained, the right monitor hinge is broken. I can't open/close the laptop unless I do it very slowly with both hands so as not to break the monitor. From what everyone says I think I'm SOL. However, I will contact Lenovo to see if this fixes the issue. Corrected - September 30, 2020 I have to apologize to Lenovo. The problems I encountered were the result of my own actions. I forgot that some time ago I put the operating system in development mode and that caused the device to start working. After the operating system is restored to the standard mode, it runs smoothly and never freezes. All our headaches are gone. Back to 5 stars Revised - 09/24/20 Stay away! Now the audio cuts out during my daughter's virtual class. We have to restart the device to get the sound again. I would stay away from this device if you need something for school. Our first Chromebook so I'm not sure if that's normal for a Chromebook. To put it mildly, very disappointed. Corrected - 09/23/20. Our device freezes daily and needs to be restarted. This is very frustrating for my 4th grade daughter with virtual learning. It's not like there are too many files or apps open, so I'm reducing the rating to three stars. As our kids need more computer time to study during COVID19, we finally decided to buy a Chromebook. I wanted a device with a 14 inch monitor, FHD, at least 4 GB of RAM, at least 64 GB of storage, a decent processor and a touchscreen. This drew my attention to the Asus Flip 434 and HP X360, but I spent several weeks researching the market, possibly due to declining stocks, and found no attractive deals on these or any other mid-range Chromebook. 13.3 inch monitor. But for $409 I could handle a slightly smaller monitor, so I pre-ordered one. The product arrived 1 day early and we have had it for almost a week now. The build quality is solid and conveys a premium feel throughout. The only exception is the edge along the trackpad on the very side of the device. As I flipped the laptop onto the tablet, I noticed that the edge of the plastic along the trackpad had shifted slightly due to its thinness. Let's see if it stands up to our children's use. But that's the only thing that worries me. The display is very clear with a wide viewing angle. I like keystrokes on the keyboard. It goes through all the activities that we carry out if we mainly use it for web browsing and video conferencing. The only game my kids tried was Roblox as their 3 year old tablet had a hard time playing it. The Flex 5 plays it very smoothly. This is my first Chromebook experience for me, so I still need to get used to the small differences with PC/Windows, but it's not that hard. This is no different than releasing a new version of Windows. I am very happy with the purchase and I hope that one device is enough for the four of usοΌοΌ
