Brilliant camera and photo solution

I'm an avid traveler and photographer puzzled over how to carry a backpack and camera. I have to carry my camera where I can reach it: the camera in your backpack is useless. I looked at extremely expensive belts and totes, both chest and waist. And nothing seemed to offer convenience and utility. And then I stumbled across this $9 gem from my old friends at OP/TECH and it seemed like a good idea. The clips go around the forklifts on the Osprey Talon shoulder straps. Several reviewers noted that the clips were a bit difficult to work with. I found one of me to be a little more recalcitrant than the other, but that's not really a problem. I would say to these people find a strong friend. You will not attach and detach these straps to your backpack; They're a permanent addition (and I didn't even notice them when I went camping without a camera installed). I first tried them without the extensions and they worked well as I carried my camera right under my chest with plenty of room. for landscape shots, but for portrait shots I needed a bit more hair length so I installed very short extensions. The shorter the straps, the less the camera pendulum will swing, especially if you have a telephoto lens attached. I have no problem carrying my 300mm lens in this position. I would advise potential buyers that you will need add-ons with this product, so don't hesitate to order them. It will take trial and error to figure out which location works best for you. The best thing for me is that these straps easily connect to all my other OP/TECH equipment. I've been a satisfied customer for over 25 years. Conclusion: This is an ingenious (why didn't I think of this before?) solution to a common problem.
