I was looking for a used car and wanted to make sure as many people as possible got tested. I'm handy, but certainly not a professional mechanic. It is foolish to spend a lot of money on a professional code scanner. I also wanted to be able to export and save the results. This option seemed the best to me. The packaging and processing quality is good. English wasn't the native language of the person who wrote all of the included material (including the app), but it's easy enough to understand. It plugs directly into your vehicle's OBDII port and is powered as soon as you turn on the key. The connection process is simple. I've used an iPhone but don't see anything more complicated on an Android device. Once it recognizes your car, you can change its name in the app and it will know which car is which. Good clear readings. Everything seemed to be right. It was able to detect and clear codes on several vehicles I've tested. From there I could save a snapshot of the entire diagnosis to my phone's photo and/or email it to me directly from the app. For the price, this device is excellent value for money. Even if you don't plan on doing any work yourself, before you spend the big bucks at the store, check it yourself when the check engine light comes on. At least you're a little better informed that way.
